Berri’s character

Berri is... well, how should I say it… a little bit crazy dog… He is so energy and so active! He is also very friendly to people. He likes all the people a lot and goes to say hello with swinging his tail. So, Berri is very brave sheltie. We have not played with balls etc. with Berri so much (because Pluto always takes them out from Berri). Despite of that, Berri likes toys much, especially own stick is the most important toy and he likes to rip that. Tommi has used that stick in agility exercises, and it works so good!

Berri’s main hobby – agility – it is soooo fun!

Berri was born at 06/10/2003 in Reisjärvi (in a small village in the middle of Finland), at Hanna-Mari’s childhood home. Pluto is the uncle of Berri, so Berri is the puppy of Pluto’s sister who is called Cindy. Berri started agility very early, actually almost immediately when he first time saw the obstacles. Tommi and Berri also trained obedience at first and they were very good also in that! Primus students always in the classes. However agility was more fun, but they still do some obedience by themselves.

Berri started to compete agility at August 2005. They moved upper level very quickly, but after that Tommi has had problems to guide Berri, because Berri is so fast, jumps very long and doesn’t turn so easy from obstacles. The power of Berri and Tommi is that Berri is very loyal to Tommi and the contact obstacles are so brilliant with Berri. He has never been taken any faults from contacts, so they have learned contacts very well. They trained a lot and after a while Tommi and Berri moved to the highest level to compete. If they have a course without faults, they usually are winners, because they are so fast. There is always very much speed and dangerous situations when Berri is on course.

In Finland Berri competes in medium size class. In U.S Berri competes in 16” class.

Our dogs love agility and now we are so happy to train agility with Sharon Freilich in Martinez.

Other hobbies

Berri has also been some times in dog shows (conformations), managed to reach grades very good, I mean judging with very good grades. But shows are not so interested than agility trials.
