Annikki - My Wife

On the 28th of January 1967 in the small English town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, at the St. Mary's Cathedral, Annikki became my lawfully wedded wife. Annikki was given away by her elder brother, Erkki. The best man was T. J. Joseph (Josey). The wedding was attended by many dear friends and a few relatives. The wedding dress was borrowed from the wife, Mary, of another dear friend, Reg Bennett. The bridesmaid was the elder daughter of Annikki's work colleague, Mary Dickerson. The wedding reception was held in our flat-to-be where the only furniture was a large wine barrel on which stood the wedding cake. The wedding dinner for relatives and close friends was held at the Prince Rupert Hotel where Annikki and I spent our wedding night. It was a memorable day for a truly unique life for me, thanks to a wonderful lady who accepted me to be her husband till death do us part.
